Well 12 is all the disciples.
28 is number of minnows in the fish tank.
29 is the number of minnows plus the dead one.
And 31 is how many times it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop.

Alright. I took me awhile, but I got 12 - 3 B M (S H T R) is 3 blind mice (see how they run)
I'm still working on 28,29,& 31. IN fact, we took those three to the bar with us last night and neither alcohol or a bar full of drunks could figure them out either. I hope that makes you feel better :) And no, I'm not giving up.
I was wrong. One of those drunks just called. Took him sobering up to let me know that #29 - 64 S on a C B = 64 squares on a chess board.
